RESPTREC Training Programs

RESPTREC now offers four courses related to chronic disease management - Education (new), Asthma, COPD and Spirometry (a skills-based course). All courses are independently offered and can be completed in any order based on what is relevant to the learner.

The goal of the new education course is to learn how to engage patients in self-management. Learners will learn how to apply educational theory to practice. To find out more information about all the RESPTREC programs available, please visit the RESPTREC website. Direct any questions regarding registration through the website or contact Lori Kleiboer at 306-667-3007.

All of the RESPTREC programs available through The Lung Association of Saskatchewan provide education in lung disease, its treatment and management, and provides participants with the most current information and research studies regarding lung disease. Participants are required to complete the Education course, Asthma course and COPD course in order to be eligible to write the Certified Respiratory Educatory (CRE) examination. This designation is becoming recognized across North America and, as such, is improving asthma and COPD management to those who need it.
